PEACS SETTLES IN AT NUMBER 32
Lee Peacock has revealed just why he has opted to line-up in the number 32 for the 2008/09 season.
Some fans may wonder why the popular front man would pick such an obscure squad number, but when questioned this morning, he was more than happy to lift the lid on the reasons behind his choice.
"The manager wants me to play as a striker this year and to be honest I couldn't see myself playing up front wearing number four!
"I asked Timms (Michael Timlin) if he wanted that shirt and he was happy, as a midfielder, to have that number which worked well."
Peacock, who has hit 19 goals in 87 league starts for the club since joining from Sheffield Wednesday in January 2006, will hope his new number can serve him well in the forthcoming campaign - but why such a particular choice?
"It is always a number that I have had in my mind.
"When I was growing up in Paisley as a kid, I used to play football with my friends in the street. There was a particular garage we used to use as a goal, which was number 32.
"Since then it has been my favourite number and when the chance came about to wear it, I thought I'd go for it."
