Details were announced today of Town's offer of tickets for the Carlisle United and Stockport County matches at a combined price of £25; a deal that Chief Executive Nick Watkins hopes will help bolster attendances in two of this season's less attractive County Ground fixtures.

Speaking exclusively to STFC Player, Watkins said: "We've got two fixtures coming up hot on the heels of the Leeds and the Charlton matches, and are very keen to get as many people into The County Ground as possible.

"But we are still very conscious of the economic climate and so for the Carlisle and Stockport fixtures which are not traditionally well supported fixtures -both in terms of home and away support - we decided that we would try to encourage fans to come along to both games for £25.

"This is of course providing they buy both tickets together; otherwise it is the standard match day price, which makes the value of the offer all the more obvious."

Watkins added that he was hopeful the offer can help convince those 'casual supporters' who may have attended the Leeds United and Charlton Athletic fixtures that it is worth returning to The County Ground to witness a potential six point haul that could see Town move towards the automatic promotion places.

Watkins on the thinking behind the offer

"The £25 offer is not just to entice those who came to the Leeds match, though obviously we'd love to see them back again," he said.

"But it's also to let the fans who a more casual than they once were know, that for £25 you can get two very good games of football that we should win, and games that should propel us back up the table.

"So we'd like to see them back through the turnstiles for these two games, and then for the games against Norwich, Bristol Rovers, Brentford as well as every other home game left in the season."

And Watkins is hopeful that such an attractive offer will help convince those dormant supporters that it is worth coming out in the late winter chill to watch a Swindon Town side who are very much in the League One promotion shake-up.

He said: "We are still having some quite inclement weather - it is still quite chilly out there - so we want to do everything we can to get as many people to come and watch the football that Danny Wilson has got the side playing.

"We're still very much in the play-off zone and it is critical we get as much support as we can to help that push."
