Swindon Town sealed all three points at Boundary Park as they came back from a goal down with a battling display. Goals from Sam Parkin and Grant Smith were enough to make it a profitable afternoon for Andy King's side.
Manager Andy King made two changes to his line-up from the side that defeated Stockport County last weekend. Sammy Igoe and Lee Holmes dropped out of the line-up with Igoe taking his place amongst the substitutes. Holmes was surprisingly not even included amongst the replacements. Jerel Ifil returned to the starting eleven after serving a one game suspension with Stefani Miglioranzi also included.
There was also a change in formation with Town operating a 3-5-2 formation with Jenkins and Duke performing the wing-back duties. Matt Hewlett, Grant Smith and Stefani Miglioranzi made up the trio in midfield.
Oldham started the brighter of the two sides taking the early possession to Swindon. Lee Croft's free-kick was too close to Rhys Evans after five minutes before Grant Smith then had Town's first effort with a long range drive which was easily gathered by Pogliacomi.

On 9 minutes Jamie Slabber latched on to a ball through from Grant Smith on the left hand side with the Spurs man forcing Lomax to put the ball behind for Town's first corner of the afternoon. However, from the resulting centre Matt Heywood's glancing header went well wide.
Oldham took the lead after 14 minutes when a through ball from Kenny Cooper was met by Kevin Betsy, who shrugged off a challenge from Ifil before squaring the ball across the face of goal. Cooper then had time to place his shot wide of Evans from just inside the box to make it 1-0 to The Latics.
With 26 minutes on the clock Swindon foraged forward and after a period of pressure Grant Smith found some space in the area. The Scotsman then unleashed a powerful left foot drive form the angle that went just over Pogliacomi's bar. David Eyres then whipped in a free-kick from the corner of the box at the other end, only for Evans to hold onto his effort.
Kenny Cooper was again in the thick of the action as he tested Evans with a low drive after 29 minutes. The Manchester United striker picked up a pass from Betsy on the edge of the box and got his shot away, only for the Town keeper to produce a fine save to deny the on-loan striker.
Oldham could and possibly should have doubled their lead after 37 minutes after Sean O'Hanlon was robbed of possession on the half way line. The home side broke quickly and the ball was played through to Lee Croft who stepped inside Heywood just inside the box. His shot was well saved by Evans, with the ball rebounding to Mark Hughes who could only volley his effort into the Swindon fans behind the goal.
On 43 minutes Sam Parkin latched onto a loose pass from Danny Hall on the edge of the box and after stepping inside his marker, played a delicate pass through to his strike partner Jamie Slabber. However, Pogliacomi was once again on hand to save the shot from the angle with the resulting corner cleared.
After going in 1-0 down at the interval, Town emerged for the second half with Sammy Igoe on the field in place of Stefani Miglioranzi.
Town won their fifth corner of the afternoon with 50 minutes on the clock when a Grant Smith cross was headed behind. Smith then swung in a useful corner which was met by Matt Heywood whose header just drifted wide. Smith then hit a 25-yard shot well over on 54 minutes after being set-up by Parkin.
Kenny Cooper earned his side a free-kick on the edge of the area with ten minutes of the second half gone after being fouled on the turn by Ifil. David Eyres emerged from the plethora of potential candidates and smashed a powerful drive goalwards, only for Evans to deny the veteran with a good reaction save.
Swindon equalised after the hour following some excellent work from on loan Spurs striker Jamie Slabber. Igoe laid the ball through to Slabber on the edge of the area and the Spurs man powered his way into the box. His shot was then saved by Pogliacomi with Parkin hitting a reply that cannoned off a defender on the line. However, Parkin was not to be denied and followed up with a header from six yards which finally found its way into the back of the net.
Brian Talbot replied by introducing John Eyre into the equation six minutes later, replacing Lee Croft. However, it was Swindon who took the advantage with a well-taken goal from Grant Smith after 69 minutes. A deep cross from Jerel Ifil was headed back across the face by Sam Parkin. After seeing his initial volleyed effort blocked - Smith followed up by hitting a shot from eight yards which bounced off the turf into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
David Duke earned Town their seventh corner after 75 minutes and from Smith's corner the ball founds it's way to Sammy Igoe. 'The Showman' then hit a 25-yard effort which was well-saved by Pogliacomi, with the rebound falling to Jamie Slabber whose shot was once again saved by the Oldham number one from the angle.
At the other end Sean O'Hanlon did superbly well on 77 minutes to deny Kevin Betsy a goalscoring opportunity inside the box. Grant Smith was then replaced by Brian Howard a minute later, with Smith suffering from a knee injury suffered at the start of the second half.
Jamie Slabber was replaced with three minutes to go with Rory Fallon coming on in place of the Spurs man. With two minutes to go Kenny Cooper hit a long range shot which trickled wide of the Town goal with The Latics looking to make the most of the closing stages. Rory Fallon could have put the game beyond doubt in added time but his shot from a Jenkins cross sailed over the bar from close range. In the end it was immaterial as the referee then blew his whistle to signal the end of a good afternoon's work for Swindon, who return to Wiltshire with the Play-Off dream still alive.
