Sean O'Hanlon and Neale McDermott gave Town a two goal lead but goals by Richie Wellens and Andy Liddell levelled the scores leaving Iffy Onuora's men with a point.
Swindon arrived at Boundary Park full of confidence that their impressive away form could continue into the Christmas period. Town have been successful in their past two visits to Oldham, winning by a single goal on each occasion; and last week's victory at Rotherham gave the team added belief.
Both sides began brightly with the home team forcing three corners in the first three minutes. But it was Swindon who took the lead on 11 minutes, when captain Sean O'Hanlon headed home a Jack Smith corner. Pook had his cross tipped over the bar by Latic's keeper Chris Day, but the keeper was unable to do anything about the Swindon captain's powerful header from the corner. Oldham 0-1 Swindon.

The home team tried to respond, and 4 minutes later Rhys Evans was called into action. A Terrell Forbes header from a Chris Porter out swinging cross, had Evans at full stretch above his head to save the attempt.
Manager Iffy Onuora made an early substitution after 18 minutes bringing on Jerel Ifil for Charlie Comyn-Platt, who appeared to be struggling with a slight injury.
Then a moment of brilliance from Stephani Miglioranzi, as he turned his opponent in midfield, and found Hameur Bouazza on the left with a long pass. The striker took the ball in his path and fired in a powerful shot which was saved by the diving Chris Day. The ball then rebounded to Bouazza, but his second attempt was high over the bar.
On the half an hour mark, Stephani Miglioanzi was booked by referee Mr. Oliver for kicking the ball away. The following move from Oldham forced a free kick outside the Swindon area. Andy Liddell stepped up to take the kick, but the effort was tipped over the bar for a corner by Rhys Evans.
As half time approached, there was a scare for Swindon. There was an appeal for handball in the Town defence inside the box, but the referee saw no infringement, and instead Swindon were awarded a goal kick.
Half Time: Oldham 0-1 Swindon
Right after half time, Swindon doubled their lead. A Neale McDermott shot rattled the Latic's crossbar. The rebound came out to Rory Fallon, who was fouled inside the area. The referee awarded a penalty much to the dismay of the home support, but Fallon's penalty was well saved by Chris Day diving to his left. However, the keeper was only able to palm the ball out to Bouazza. The Town striker was also denied by Day, but again the ball rebounded out into the six-yard box; this time Neale McDermott was on hand to finish the follow-up. Oldham 0-2 Swindon.

Oldham's predicament led them to make their first substitution of the game after 55 minutes, with Luke Beckett replacing Chris Porter. The substitution immediately paid off, as the home team pulled a goal back. Oldham were awarded a free kick on the right of the Swindon area which was quickly taken. As the cross came in, the Town defence were unprepared as Richie Wellens poked the ball past Rhys Evans into the net. Oldham 1-2 Swindon.
As the game started to heat up, Guy Branston was shown the yellow card for a late tackle on Ricky Shakes.
Oldham continued to press, as Luke Beckett led the ball into the path of Andy Liddell. His cross was met by the head of Richie Wellens forcing Evans to make a fine save.
Onuora made his second substitution of the game on 64 minutes bringing off Neale McDermott for Aaron Brown.

On 69 minutes, Oldham's persistent pressure paid off. A chip into the Swindon area passed over Rhys Evans' head, striking the top of the crossbar. The rebound fell to Andy Liddell, who hit the ball home with confidence. Oldham 2-2 Swindon.
Referee Oliver handed out his third booking of the game to Rory Fallon on 74 minutes, as the Town striker pushed Guy Branston to the ground.
Swindon showed signs of hitting back, and 10 minutes from time, a Miglioranzi run cut through the heart of the Oldham midfield. The ball was led off to Bouazza who's shot was high over the upright.

Town then made their final substitution of the afternoon with Rory Fallon being replaced by Petr Mikolanda.
Moments later, a Paul Warne shot was almost deflected in by Andy Nicholas for an own goal. Thankfully, the ball went over the bar, and the resulting corner came to nothing. Swindon had further chances as the game closed out, but the finishing was lacking and the Robins return to Wiltshire with a point.
