An Andy Gurney penalty after 39 minutes earned Swindon Town a point at The Galpharm Stadium and extended his side's unbeaten run to four games.
Swindon Town Manager Iffy Onuora named youngster David Stroud in his line-up at The Galpharm Stadium for his full first team debut, with Stefani Miglioranzi and Ricky Shakes also included in the starting eleven.
It was an attack minded line-up with David Stroud and Ricky Shakes starting on the left and right flanks respectively. Stefani Miglioranzi and Michael Pook filled the central midfield berths with Andy Gurney starting just in front of the back four providing extra defensive protection.
Swindon started in a positive fashion and won their first corner of the game after just five minutes. Gurney's out-swinger from the right was cleared by Nathan Clarke with another corner awarded soon after - but Gurney's weak shot was easily saved by Paul Rachubka.
It was a promising start from the visitors with David Stroud involved on numerous occasions inside the opening exchanges. Swindon won their third corner of the game on 12 minutes but once again Gurney's set-piece was cleared by the Terriers defence with Andy Booth this time the man to clear the danger.
The home side, having withstood three early Swindon corners, won their first corner of the day on 17 minutes. Tony Carrs took the centre but his ball in was cleared by Andy Nicholas, with Premiership Referee Andy D'Urso waving away fleeting penalty appeals from home supporters.
On 24 minutes Huddersfield won two successive corners in succession but once again the Swindon defence rebuffed the advances of the home side with Andy Nicholas this time the man to clear. From the resulting clearance the ball found its way to Ricky Shakes who picked up the ball and galloped into the Huddersfield half, having left his marker behind with a burst of searing pace. However, the final ball from Shakes was left wanting as his attempted cross to the unmarked Bouazza inside the area sailed harmlessly over the bar.
With the half-hour mark approaching Town created an opening for themselves. From the second corner won in succession, Sean O'Hanlon met a corner from Andy Gurney. However, the Town Captain could only head the ball over the bar when perhaps he should have done better having lost his marker.
For the home side Andy Booth's header failed to trouble Tom Heaton in the Swindon goal, with the Manchester United loanee having enjoyed a quiet afternoon with ten minutes of the first half remaining. Danny Schofield then dragged a woeful shot well wide on 37 minutes with the Swindon defence once again holding firm.

There was a moment of controversy on 38 minutes when Referee Andy D'Urso produced a yellow card for Tony Carrs who had brought down Michael Pook as the Swindon youngster burst through towards goal. The resulting free-kick into the box was cleared but the ball back in was handled by Nathan Clarke. The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot on 39 minutes with Andy Gurney stepping up to fire the ball confidently past Rachubka in the home goal to put his side 1-0 up.
After going into the lead Swindon continued to apply the pressure with two more corners won in quick succession. Iffy Onuora's men were continuing to frustrate the home side as the game progressed with just one minute of added time signalled by the fourth official.
Half-Time: Huddersfield Town 0 Swindon Town 1
Iffy Onuora made no changes to his eleven during the half-time interval with Town emerging for the second period looking to build on an excellent first half showing.
The home side started the second half well and immediately set about exerting pressure on the Swindon backline. The Terriers won an early corner on 47 minutes with Tony Carrs hitting the corner into the box, but Sean O'Hanlon was on hand to clear the danger.
Swindon survived a scare on 50 minutes when Pawel Abbott found himself unmarked inside the box. A cross from the right from found Abbott, but Tom Heaton was equal to the challenge and denied Abbott an equaliser - which unfortunately for Swindon was soon to follow.
Unfortunately for Town the lead did not last and The Terriers equalised on 54 minutes. A cross from the right from Danny Schofield was met by Chris Brandon whose left foot shot from 6-yards out found the corner of the net to make it 1-1.
Just 60 seconds later Michael Pook had a chance to put his side back into the lead but his header failed to trouble Rachubka, with Hameur Bouazza then seeing his shot saved. Iffy Onuora's men continued to counter in search of another goal with Andy Nicholas and Hameur Bouazza involved on numerous occasions. David Stroud then produced another fine jinking run but his shot sailed over before Bouazza brought a fine save out of Rachubka on the hour.
The visitors continued to apply the pressure after the equaliser and were showing no signs of being intimidated by their hosts who were also joint league leaders going into the game.
Peter Jackson made his first change of the afternoon with Gary Taylor-Fletcher replacing the more defensive Tony Carrs on 65 minutes.
Swindon were moulding their performance into one which exuded ambition and one which had yielded 8 corners to date with 65 minutes on the clock.
Hameur Bouazza was booked on 68 minutes for a foul on Andy Holdsworth but the Frenchman came agonisingly close to opening his account for the afternoon moments later. Michael Pook played a neat ball through to David Stroud and the debutant motored down the left and provided a teasing ball in for Bouazza who saw his effort go narrowly wide.
Manager Iffy Onuora was forced to make a change on 75 minutes when Andy Gurney came off injured with Neale McDermott coming on to replace him in the centre of midfield. Miglioranzi moved to take up the Gurney's defensive position just in front of the back four.
Colin Heath was then introduced replacing Michael Pook who had taken an earlier knock.

Steve Jenkins was the next player to enter Referee Mr. D'Urso's notebook on 83 minutes after a firm challenge on Danny Schofield. Heath then had a chance to set up a Town attack but he drifted into an offside position and the danger was gone with time ticking away.
Charlie Comyn-Platt, who was introduced into the action so early against Scunthorpe United last weekend after an injury to Neale McDermott, replaced Ricky Shakes with just four minutes remaining. Tom Heaton was booked in the last minute of normal time as the Referee took a dim view of Heaton's alleged clockwatching.
The Fourth Official indicated four extra minutes of added time but Swindon saw the game out to earn a creditable draw at The Galpharm Stadium to extent their unbeaten run to four games.
