Bristol Rovers will not be playing at The County Ground next season, after The Pirates announced a deal to groundshare with Cheltenham Town.

Rovers will play all their home games at Whaddon Road whilst The Memorial Stadium under goes a comprehensive redevelopment programme.

Swindon Town did enter discussions with Bristol Rovers over a possible groundshare at The County Ground, with Rovers also holding talks with Yeovil Town and Cheltenham Town.

Following the announcement on Monday evening, Bristol Rovers chairman Ron Craig said: "The decision to share with Cheltenham was made with fans in mind, as it is the easiest option for travelling.

"We also had to take financial aspects into account, and the quality of the pitch was also a consideration.

"We would like to thank Swindon Town and Yeovil Town for their cooperation during this time.''
