AMANKWAAH SIGNS UP

Posted on: Mon 09 Jun 2008

Swindon Town boss Maurice Malpas has made his first move in the transfer market with a swoop for Swansea City's Kevin Amankwaah.

The 6'1 defender arrives from The Liberty Stadium on a two-year deal and will add competition and experience to the defensive unit.

Amankwaah began his career with five years at Bristol City where he made over 50 first team starts for City in a spell which also saw him spend time on loan with Torquay United, Cheltenham Town and Yeovil Town.

He secured a permanent move to Yeovil in March 2005 and made 42 league starts before a switch to The Swans in July 2006.

26-year old Amankwaah has now put pen to paper on the deal and will link up with his new Town teammates for the first time on Friday 27th June when the first team squad report back for pre-season training. He will then head to Austria on Wednesday 9th July with the squad.
