Swindontownfc.co.uk caught up with new signing Kevin Amankwaah on Monday afternoon and got his views on a move to The County Ground.
The 26-year old has agreed a two-year deal to join The Robins and he will link up with his new teammates for the first time on Friday 27th June for the start of pre-season training.
Prior to heading off on holiday to Cyprus, the defender gave his first interview as a Swindon player to the official website and outlined his thoughts on the switch.
How did the move to Swindon come about?
I was on holiday in Florida when I first heard of Swindon's interest and things went from there quite quickly.
I then spoke to the Manager and he sold the club to me. He told me about the way the club is looking to go and the quality of player he is looking to bring in. This is a big year for Swindon Town and I want to be a part of it.
Do you know many of the Town squad already?
The likes of Lee Peacock and Christian Roberts were at Bristol City when I was there, so it will be great to have a few friendly faces about the place. Lee has already been in touch and he told me all about Swindon. He has offered any help he can give in the meantime and has been great. It should help me settle in.

And you have lots of League One experience…
At Bristol City I played quite a bit of League One football and had a good run in the Yeovil side when I was there, before joining Swansea.
The car crash put my career on hold, but that is behind me now and I really cannot wait to get things started at Swindon.
These are exciting times at Swindon too…
Definitely. It should be a really good place to play football next season. The manager has told me all about what is going on at Swindon, and with the new Board in place - hopefully we can all work hard and achieve together.
What qualities can you bring to the Swindon team?
I am an up and down right back. I like to get forward but can also defend as well so it's great to be able to have the license to do both from that position."

Your mother represented Ghana in the Commonwealth Games, do you fancy yourself as a pace man too?
That's true! I am probably faster than her at the moment; she is getting on a bit (laughs).
My attacking play is pretty good and whilst I don't want to blow my own trumpet, I certainly enjoy getting forward and playing the game in the right way. Maurice Malpas wants to play football and that should help me fit in.
Pre-season is just around the corner, will you be keeping the fitness up whilst you are away?
Definitely. I am going to Cyprus for a break but will be doing some fitness work whilst I am over there.
Last year I missed a fair bit of pre-season and don't want to be in that position again. Having a good pre-season behind you lays the foundations for the season so I am looking to work hard.
Will you be relocating to the Swindon area?
I am still in Bristol at the moment and once I get back from holiday I'm going to have a look around and see what comes up.
The fixtures are out next Monday - who would you like in the first game?
Leicester City, at The Walkers Stadium!
