INJURIES EASING FOR TOWN

Posted on: Fri 25 Jul 2008

Town midfielder Craig Easton is making good progress as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in Austria, and could feature against Cardiff City next Tuesday night.

Winger Anthony McNamee missed training on Thursday after sustaining a bruised foot at Hampton & Richmond, but will link up with the rest of the squad on Friday.

Town Manager Maurice Malpas rounded up the latest injury news after training.

"Eastie is looking better and should play against Cardiff on Tuesday. It's good news because he is an important player for us and one of the fittest players in the squad," said the boss.

"Chris Allen is back in training and Blair Sturrock also played at Chippenham last night so he is back in the fold.

"Christian Roberts is still continuing his rehabilitation although wont return to training for some time yet."

Lee Peacock back in training

There was more good news for the Robins with Lee Peacock joining in training for the first time in several weeks at Wanborough on Thursday.

"Lee Peacock joined in training today. He did the first week of pre-season and joined in with the running, but hasn't done a lot since then.

"We may look to get him involved in a game at some stage next week, or the Plymouth game the Monday after," said Malpas.
