MALPAS EYES UP MARSHALL DEAL
Swindon Town boss Maurice Malpas is hoping to tie up a permanent move for Eastleigh winger Mark Marshall this week.
Marshall featured for The Robins on trial against Portsmouth and Hampton & Richmond during pre-season, although did not attend the Austria tour and returned to his Club for their own pre-season tour of Devon.
Malpas, speaking ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup first round clash, revealed he is hopeful of adding to his squad before the week's end.
"We have made Mark an offer to join us," said Malpas.
"We have seen him first hand in pre-season and we would like him to come on board.
"He has potential and we have spoken to Eastleigh about him joining us."
QPR provide the opposition on Tuesday night and Malpas is expecting a tough test with a place in Round Two at stake.
"It is a difficult game, but one we could win. QPR go into the game as favourites but as a Scot, I know we can cause a surprise. If we perform like we know we can then we have a chance.
"Everyone is expecting QPR to be there or there abouts at the end of the season, so they may feel a bit of pressure over the course of the season."
Supporters are reminded that the Season Ticket deadline has been extended until 12pm, Thursday 14th August 2008.
