WILSON EYES UP O'BRIEN

Posted on: Fri 03 Jul 2009

Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson has confirmed his desire to bring Alan O'Brien to The Robins.

Former Newcastle United wide man O'Brien signed for Hibernian in the summer of 2007 and also has five caps for the Republic of Ireland to his name.

And with Wilson looking to add a further four players to the squad, he has revealed that 24-year old O'Brien is due for talks this weekend.

"We are due to speak to him on Sunday when he comes down here and hopefully we can get something sorted," DW told the media on Friday morning.

"He hasn't signed for us yet -but he is a player we would like to have on board because he has a lot of attributes.

"He is someone that we have been tracking for a while. There are some very good players in the Scottish Premier League and we have had some encouraging reports on him.

"Alan has outstanding pace and if he did agree to join us then he would be a player to excite the fans."
