DAVE IS SPOT ON...

Posted on: Wed 26 Aug 2009

Town stopper David Lucas held his nerve on Tuesday night to score a penalty in the shoot-out against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Lucas, a summer signing from Leeds United, sent Marcus Hahnemann the wrong way from the spot to score what was Town's fifth penalty.

And the former Sheffield Wednesday stopper came close to being the hero on the night, getting his fingertips to one of the spot-kicks.

Lucas is not alone in scoring from the spot for Town. Youth team goalkeeper Jon Stewart scored one in an FA Youth Cup clash in December 2006. Stewart is now on the books at Premier League side Portsmouth.
