After coming close to his first Town goal last weekend, Jonathan Douglas is hoping The Robins can continue their good form with a win against Colchester United.

Douglas - with eight Republic of Ireland caps to his name - has added great experience to the Swindon ranks and almost opened his account at Huish Park last weekend.

"It was close wasn't it? J-P put in a great ball and I think Billy tried to pick me out, but the ball was diverted into the net before I could get on the end of it. I'm not too worried about who scores as long as we get the goals and it was great to get the win."

The midfielder insists he is not getting too carried away by what has been a promising start to the campaign. Despite only one defeat so far, Douglas knows there is still much work to do before The Robins become a polished outfit.

"There is still a lot of work to do to get things right - both on the training ground and in games. Overall it's going well - considering the start we had, and the boys are nice and confident.

"The Colchester game will be a big one for us because we have to beat the teams around us and they are up and around the play-off places. It's still early days but hopefully on Saturday we perform well and get the three points."

Aidy Boothroyd was recently named the new boss at Colchester United and Douglas came up against the new U's boss during his time with Leeds in the 2005 Play-Off final.

"I think he (Boothroyd) will have their team trying to get the ball forward and they will be a solid side.

"He was Manager at Watford when I played against them for Leeds in 2005. Unfortunately I lost that one but three points this weekend would be fantastic."
