Charlie Austin is more than happy with the start he has made to his Swindon Town career.
The 20-year-old striker has impressed during his short time at the club, and scored a brace for the reserves in yesterday afternoon's 3-2 victory over Plymouth Argyle.
The goals took his tally to four goals from three appearances, and he admits he couldn't be happier at The County Ground.
He said: "I'm feeling pretty confident at the moment, and as long as I keep working hard, getting 90 minutes under my belt regularly and keep putting the ball in the back of the net then I can't do much more.
"Everything's worked out well with me being here and all the boys have been really good to me."
Despite having managed the step up from amateur to reserve professional football successfully, Austin is aware that the next step into the first team will be the most difficult, but is confident he will acclimatise well when he gets his chance.
"I trained with Bournemouth through pre-season which was high intensity, and I've come here and it's another level up but I'm adapting to it and getting on fine," he said.
"With the second goal I just brought it down well and fired it in the bottom corner, but I know I won't get that sort of time to finish in the first team, but at the same time you just have to put the chances away when they come.
"I've just got to be patient, wait for my time and keep scoring in the reserves, which hopefully won't go unnoticed."
