Former Town goalkeeper Peter Brezovan made an impressive debut for new side Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.

The giant stopper has been brought in for a month by Seagulls manager Gus Poyet, and was thrown straight into the side for their match against Exeter City on Saturday.

Having been fairly untroubled for much of the first half, Brezovan conceded a penalty after upending Grecians striker Stuart Fleetwood in the area.

However, Brezovan brushed himself off and saved the resulting spot-kick from Marcus Stewart; evoking memories of his Town debut in 2006 when he saved two penalties against Hartlepool United in Dennis Wise's first game in charge.

Poyet told Brighton's official website: "Peter Brezovan gave us something extra today out there, especially in saving the penalty because that was probably the turning point of the game.

"You have to give him respect. He hasn't played a professional football game this season and after a week's training with us he came here and put in a blinding performance.

Brighton & Hove Albion are the next visitors to The County Ground on Saturday 19th December. Cut-price ticket details can be found by clicking the link below.
