27-year old Pericard, who has scored four goals in ten League One starts for Carlisle United this term, has agreed terms on a one-and-a-half year deal at The County Ground.

The 6'1 front man boats vast experience and includes with Italian giants Juventus amongst his former clubs. He has also played Premier League football during his time with Stoke City.

He first came to England when he signed for Portsmouth on-loan from Juventus in 2002 and became an instant hit at Fratton Park - scoring nine goals in 18 starts for Pompey.

He eventually signed a permanent deal in the summer of 2003 but injury problems hampered his progress. He then had loan spells with Sheffield United and Plymouth Argyle as he regained fitness.

Pericard joined Stoke City on a three-year deal in the summer of 2006 and became Tony Pulis' first signing at The Brittania Stadium. He scored on his home debut against Derby County and followed that up with the winner against Sunderland in October.

In the 2008/09 campaign Pericard made his first top-flight appearance as he came on the final 22 minutes of the home fixture against Fulham. He also bolstered his Premier League experience with further outings against the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United.

He has since had loan spells with Southampton and Millwall before joining Carlisle United on a short-term contract in October 2009. He made an immediate impact with The Cumbrians, scoring with just eleven minutes on the clock on his home debut. Five further strikes followed - including a double-strike against MK Dons in a 4-3 away victory.
