Hasney Aljofree has left Swindon Town by mutual consent after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.
The central defender played for Oldham Athletic reserves in their 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough last Wednesday night, fuelling speculation of his imminent departure.
Town manager Danny Wilson admitted that Aljofree was unlikely to get any game time at Town, adding that it was best for all parties that the defender moved on.
"Has needs to play games, and that's the biggest thing for him," he said.
"Our reserve fixture list is very poor in terms of the amount games you play throughout the season, so we weren't going to stand in his way if Has got a chance to play somewhere else."
