Five just fine for Vincent

Posted on: Thu 14 Jan 2010

Town Assistant Manager Peter Shirtliff keeps you updated on the week's events at The County Ground in 'Get Shirty', available right here at Swindontownfc.co.uk every Friday morning.

New Signing Vincent Pericard will wear the number five shirt for the remainder of the 2009/10 season.

The former Juventus and Portsmouth front man has put pen to paper on a one-and-a-half year deal at The County Ground and arrived in Wiltshire on Thursday.

With the ink still drying on the contract, the 27-year old outlined his reasons behind his choice of squad number.

"It may not be conventional, but I don't mind that," smiled the new boy.

"I was offered the number 27 shirt but that just didn't sound right so I was offered the five shirt and I'm happy with that.

"Hopefully by the end of the season I can have 15 goals to my name. There is competition for places here but I am looking forward to getting started."
