2pm - The teams are in. Kevin Amankwaah misses out for the first time this season with a hamstring injury, and is replaced by Gordon Greer in the Town backline, with Scott Cuthbert filling in at right-back.
2.20pm - Apologies in advance for any incoherence in text updates today. The location of the press box in Orient's impressive new West Stand is such that altitude sickness is probably an occupational hazard for local journalists. Fingers crossed for the visiting press today.
2.45pm - The Matchroom Stadium slowly begins to fill as we move towards kick-off. The pitch has clearly been damaged by the mid-week rain, and is cutting up badly even during the warm up. Fasten your seat belts for what could well be a scrappy afternooon's football.
2.55pm - Town's sizeable following find their voices and begin to build an atmosphere inside what is a sparsely populated ground here in East London.
2.58pm - The players are welcomed out onto a pitch consisting of 50% grass, 25% sand and 25% mud.
3pm - The match kicks off.
3.10pm - Despite Town's early dominance of possession, the first piece of goal mouth action comes in their penalty area, when a Jason Demetriou free-kick is curled into the box, but Sean Morrison rises well to clear with Orient players waiting to pounce behind him.
3.11pm - The first chance of the game falls to the hosts, as McGleish plays the ball through to Demetriou, who hits a powerful shot at goal, but David Lucas does well to bat it clear of danger and Alan Sheehan completes the clearance.
3.20pm - To their credit, both sides are trying to play attractive football, but are struggling on an increasingly difficult surface, and in certain areas of the pitch they may as well be passing a rugby ball around.
3.22pm - Jimmy Smith slips a neat ball through to Scott McGleish who spots Lucas off his line and attempts a chip, but the ball loops high and wide of the goal.
3.31pm - The best chance of the game so far falls to Billy Paynter. Sheehan whipped in a typically pinpoint cross from a free-kick and found the Scouse front man unmarked, but his glancing heading dropped narrowly wide of the post.
3.32pm - The second headed chance in as many minutes falls to Paynter as he meets J-P McGovern's low cross at the near post, but can't direct it goal wards.
3.34pm - A good break from Ryan Jarvis on the right hand side, and the striker crossed well for the unmarked Demetriou at the back post, but the winger almost had too much time and dragged a weak shot wide of the post when he should have done better.
3.38pm - The best move of the match involving Danny Ward, Jonathan Douglas and Simon Ferry ends with the Scot laying the ball off to Alan Sheehan, who hits a powerful shot narrowly over.
3.39pm - Another good chance for Town falls to Charlie Austin, who curls a shot goal wards, which takes a deflection and drops just wide of the post. The resulting corner is cleared comfortably.
3.44pm - A great chance for Orient goes begging as Ryan Jarvis hits a shot from a tight angle straight at David Lucas after finding himself one on one with the Town stopper in the penalty area.
HALF TIME Leyton Orient 0 Town 0
4.05pm - The second half kicks off. The pitch made for an intruiging if turgid first half, can either team overcome the conditions and take the game by the scruff of the neck in the second period?
4.11pm - After a strong start from the hosts, Town get their first chance to break forward with Danny Ward, but after a promising run, the youngster hits a right footed shot wide of the post.
4.12pm - Demetriou floats a corner in from the right which is met by Tamika Mkandawire, but the centre half's header loops harmlessly over the bar.
4.18pm - Good work from McGovern on the right, as he sweeps in a cross which is met by Austin at the near post, but the striker's shot flashes wide of the goal. The ground is beginning to come alive as both sets of fans sense the game is entering a crucial period.
4.23pm - SUBSTITUTION: Craig Easton gets a good reception from the whole stadium as he replaces Simon Ferry against his former club.
4.25pm - SUBSTITUTION: Jonathan Tehoue replaces Scott McGleish for the hosts.
4.30pm - SUBSTITUTION: Vincent Pericard replaces Charlie Austin for Town. Can Pericard break the deadlock?
4.33pm - Sheehan loops a corner into the back post, where the unmarked Scott Cuthbert nods back across goal, but no-one is there to meet the loose ball.
4.37pm - A good chance for the impressive Demetriou who attacks Cuthbert and attempts a curler into the far corner, but the ball drifts wide.
4.38pm - Sean Morrison is close to putting the hosts in front as he diverts Demetriou's cross-cum-shot inches over the bar. It would have been an horrendous own goal, but Town breath a sigh of relief as the resultant corner is headed wide by Mkandawire.
4.40pm - Danny Ward squanders a good opportunity for Town, volleying over from 12 yards out when in space.
4.42pm - SUBSTITUTION: Matt Ritchie replaces Danny Ward for Town.
4.49pm - After a series of corners for Town, Orient break clear and Thornton finds himself one on one with Lucas, but Douglas flies in from nowhere with a potentially point saving tackle for the visitors.
4.50pm - Billy Paynter almost steals it for Town with a 25-yard thunderbolt, but Orient 'keeper Jamie Jones tips it over.
4.51pm - A flashpoint in the game, as Paynter is seemingly felled from behind by Ben Chorley in the box, but the referee gives a free kick for Orient, then puzzingly fails to book Paynter for diving.
