The County Ground will be home to pioneering scientific technology next season, as Town fans get the chance to change the way they watch their team in action.
From the beginning of the 2010/11 campaign, Town will be the only club in the country to trial new Extra Definition (XD) vision, with the whole of the Premier League and Football League set to follow suit the following year if successful.
XD vision is described by experts as being able to "bring a live game even further to life before your very eyes, taking you closer to the action." And that is exactly what Swindon's supporters will be experiencing.
Every County Ground Season Ticket Holder will be given a set of XD glasses, manufactured by French firm L'Aproolif, at the opening home game of the campaign.
And with Town's new home kit embroidered with a special layer of material which reacts with the glasses, it is designed to give those loyal fans an enhanced experience of the game.
So even if you are sat in row SS of the Don Rogers Stand, you will feel like you're stood next to Jonathan Douglas as he makes a pass, sliding in to a tackle alongside Gordon Greer, and celebrating Charlie Austin's latest goal with the man himself!
Town Chief Executive Nick Watkins commented: "It's great to be affiliated with such a ground breaking new initiative, and I'm looking forward to seeing our Season Ticket Holders donning their futuristic Matchday glasses next season.
"I've had many dealings with L'Aproolif in the past, and they have proven once again that they are at the cutting edge of sporting technology."
