2pm - The teams are in. Alan Sheehan replaces Lecsinel Jean-Francois at left-back in what is the only change for Town from Saturday's 3-0 win against Leed United. Billy Paynter and Charlie Austin continue to lead the line, while West Ham United loanee Frank Nouble is on the bench.
2.56 - Gordon Greer leads out Danny Wilson's Red and White Army to the applause of a very healthy looking crowd. Kick off is moments away.
3.00 - The visitors Tranmere get us underway wearing the most lurid lime-green away kit. They're attacking the Town End in the first 45.
3.04 - It's been a quiet opening few minutes but Scott Cuthbert doesn't look too happy. The defender looks to the bench and makes a substitution gesture. He's hobbling around at the moment and keeps stretching his right leg. Meanwhile Charlie Austin gets his head to a McGovern cross but can only send the ball wide.
3.07 - Ex-player alert: Gareth Edds is allowed to come a long way to the edge of the area and unleash a drive that David Lucas turns round the post. It's unusually quiet around SN1 at the moment.
3.11 - GOAL! It's an own goal from Tranmere left-back Ben Gordon. Alan Sheehan's cross sails over Charlie Austin's head and Gordon, making only his second league start, gets himself an awful mess; the ball strikes his shins and bounces into the far corner of the net.
3.13 - Could have been 2-0! J-P McGovern curls a delightful ball in with the outside of his right boot that only just evades both Austin and Ward. That's the second time McGovern has put in such a killer ball too.
3.24 - Sheehan's free-kick is well saved by Luke Daniels in the Tranmere goal. The pace has dropped off a bit and the visitors are having a little too much of the ball at the moment.
3.30 - The visitors' defence mis-judge the flight of a ball over the top and Douglas steals in. His shot is blocked behind and from the resulting corner, the ball comes through to Douglas again, waiting at the far post. This time it's the goalkeeper who denies him.
3.34 - Danny Ward goes close with a vicious shot from the edge of the area. The man on-loan from Bolton receives the ball, back to goal. He turns his man and unleashes a shot that is well turned around the post by Daniels.
3.35 - RED CARD! Confusion reigns at the County Ground. As the corner comes in, the linesman waves and puts his flag across his chest. After a couple of minutes of discussion between the referee and his assistant, Mr Langford points to the spot: its a penalty to Town and Terry Gornell is shown a straight red.
3.36 - PENALTY! GOAL! Billy Paynter steps up, sends the 'keeper the wrong way and blasts home his 25th goal of the season.
3.47 - The rest of the half peters out without any major incidents. At the break Town lead 2-0.
Half Time - Swindon Town 2-0 Tranmere Rovers
4.03 - We're back underway at SN1. The Town kick-off attacking the Town End.
4.07 - A move containing 19 successive passes almost ends with Charlie Austin latching onto a cross. Unfortunately for him the goalkeeper just beats him to it. Cracking build-up though.
4.12 - A short corner is played to Jonathan Douglas who was lurking on edge of the area. Urged by seemingly every Swindon fan to shoot, the midfielder obliges and forces a fine save from Daniels. From the corner the ball is knocked down for Gordon Greer to hook narrowly wide.
4.13 - GOAL! Charlie Austin gets in on the act! An inch-perfect ball over the top from JP McGovern lands on Austin's big toe as he runs through on goal. The striker expertly knocks the ball past the advancing goalkeeper and rolls it into the net. Simply superb stuff from the Town at the moment. Cries of "We are going up" ring out across the County Ground.
4.19 - Exhibition stuff from the home side at the moment. Darby and Austin combine to put Ferry through. The midfielder clips a ball across to the waiting Paynter who can't quite reach it. Danny Wilson's men in complete control: it's almost like watching a cat playing with a ball of string at times.
4.25 - SUBSTITUTION - Billy Paynter is replaced by Frank Nouble for the final half-hour.
4.26 - Austin almost makes a chance out of nothing. A ball is played to him, back to goal. He rolls off his man but can't get enough on the shot to beat the keeper.
4.33 - SUBSTITUTION - Mark Marshall is on in place of Danny Ward
4.37 - SUBSTITUTION - Town's 3rd and final substitution of the day: Simon Ferry makes way for Michael Timlin.
4.47 - Could be 4-0 to the Town: Town's complete control of posession carves out a chance for Austin. A combination of Austin and Nouble get a touch to the ball only to watch as it bounces off the inside of the post and rolls along the goal-line before being cleared. Nouble could have been forgiven for thinking it was not going to be his day as he's put through on goal but only manages to drive the ball straight at the goalkeeper.
4.50 - 3 minutes of stoppage time are a formality before Mr Langford blows for full time. Three goal, three points - 'Simples'
Full Time: Swindon Town 3-0 Tranmere Rovers
