Town goalkeeper Phil Smith came off the bench after just two minutes of the play-off semi-final second leg and played an important part in helping The Robins book their place at Wembley.

And Smith, who is now Town's longest serving player, believes his side have what it takes to secure a return to the second tier of English football.

"It must have been a great game for the neutrals watching on TV at home. The game was fairly fast-paced and it had everything," he said.

"Coming on after just two minutes was a bit strange because you don't expect it to happen to soon. Dave (Lucas) went down and I got the call. I was still pretty sharp from the warm-up so it was good in a way that it did come so soon.

"We are through and looking forward to Wembley now," he continued.

"Getting into the Championship is something I didn't think I would be able to achieve in my career, but now we are going to Wembley in a few weeks with a chance of going up.

"To get the chance to win another promotion with Swindon would be unbelievable.

"There are big teams - Premier League teams - in the Championship. Anything can happen now."
