Rose, who has been strongly linked with Town over the summer, spent three months on loan at last season's League One Champions Norwich City and having made nearly 300 Football League appearances, will bring valuable experience to Danny Wilson's defensive unit .

Rose started his career at Manchester United, before spending the next six years making over 40 appearances for Chester City, Hereford United and Yeovil Town respectively.

He then spent two short loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Scunthorpe United, before joining Stockport County in the summer of 2006, where he became a fans' favourite, making over 100 appearances at Edgeley Park.

Town fans are likely to recognise the left-back, having seen him feature twice against their side last season - during the 1-0 victory over Stockport County at Edgeley Park, and the 1-1 draw with Norwich City at The County Ground.

Interviews with both Rose and Danny Wilson are available to STFC Player subscribers right now.
