Town claimed their second comfortable win in as games as a brace from Keirnan Hughes-Mason, and one apiece from David Ball and Charlie Austin earned them a 4-1 win at Edgar Street.
The visitors made a bright start to the match, controlling possession during the early exchanges and taking a deserved lead after 10 minutes through a David Ball penalty.
Lecsinel Jean-Francois had broken sharply into the box before being brought down by Mike Townsend, and Ball slotted the ball home well from the spot.
Despite a positive reaction from the home side, Town were still in control of possession and could have doubled their lead through David Ball who did well to cut inside his man and curl a shot goalwards, only to see the post come to the hosts' rescue.
The scores were levelled after 39 minutes however, when the energetic Fleetwood held the ball up well and laid it into the path of Daniel Stretford, who rolled a first time shot past Lucas from the edge of the box to give the visitors a well earned equaliser after a decent period of pressure saw them into half-time on par with their opponents.
Town again started the stronger in the second half, and after a dominant 20 minute period they restored their lead, again from the spot but this time through trialist Keirnan Hughes-Mason.
The Millwall youngster showed quick feet to draw the tackle that earned the penalty, and stepped up to drill it through Bulls 'keeper Scott Connor to make it 2-1.
And he could have grabbed a second after 75 minutes when he found himself on the end of the move of the match involving McGovern, Douglas and Ball, but he sliced his shot well wide from 10 yards out.
Substitute Charlie Austin proceeded to make it three eight minutes later, as he found himself unmarked in the box and calmly nodded Jonathan Douglas' cross into the top corner to seal the win.
The match then drifted towards full time, but there was still time for Hughes-Mason to head home his second of the game, after a Nathan Thompson cross picked him out perfectly.
It was another useful workout for Town, and Danny Wilson will be pleased to have seen more encouraging performances from a number of his players.

90 - GOAL! Keirnan Hughes-Mason bags his second with a powerful close range header after a Nathan Thompson cross had picked him out perfectly.
85 - SUBSTITUTION: Will Evans replaces Jonathan Douglas.
83 - GOAL! Charlie Austin wraps up the win for Town with a neat headed finish after a pinpoint cross from Jonathan Douglas had found him unmarked in the box.
79 - SUBSTITUTION: Nathan Thompson replaces Kevin Amankwaah.
75 - An excellent move from Town sees Hughes-Mason with a great chance to double his tally from 10 yards out, but he slices his shot horribly wide when he should have done better.
66- SUBSTITUTION: Alan O'Brien and Charlie Austin replace Pericard and Prutton for Town.

64 - GOAL! Keirnan Hughes-Mason restores Town's lead from the spot after earning the kick himself with a neat bit of skill inside the area that was too much for Ryan Green, who hauled him to the ground. The trialist tried his best to miss the kick, but the ball squirmed under the 'keeper and in.
61 - The stadium announcer proclaims: 'Another excellent attendance for a pre-season friendly of 1,177, including 73 who've made the trip from Shrewsbury.' Any in from Swindon at all?
55 - SUBSTITUTION: Keirnan Hughes-Mason replaces Billy Bodin for Town.
8.50pm - The second half kicks off. Town have made three substitutions with J-P McGovern, Michael Rose and Phil Smith replacing Michael Timlin, Sean Morrison and David Lucas respectively. Billy Bodin moves to the left wing while David Ball moves up front alongside Vincent Pericard.
HALF TIME Hereford United 1 Town 1
39 - GOAL! Hereford equalise through Daniel Stretford, who finished neatly from the edge of the box after a lay-off from Fleetwood. Cue the sound of home cheers and one vuvuzela. Oh dear.
37 - A long, sweeping ball out wide from Douglas found Ball, who cut inside neatly and curled a delicate shot past Connor only to be denied by the post.

26 - A few tackles begin to fly in as the match becomes a little scrappy. Friendly anyone?
19 - Fleetwood finds himself clean through on goal after a pinpoint through ball from O'Neil Thompson, but Jean-Francois is back quickly to cover, and Fleetwood chips tamely into Lucas's arms.
15 - Hereford's first chance falls to Stuart Fleetwood, as he pounces on a mistake from Jonathan Douglas and shoots from 20 yards out, but fails to trouble Lucas who watches the ball fly over the bar.

11 - GOAL! Ball scores his second in as many games to give Town the lead from the spot, slotting the ball into the bottom left hand corner. Not necessarily a moment to treasure for the youngster, but a solid start in a Town shirt nonetheless.
10 - PENALTY! Lecsinel Jean-Francois is brought down after a powerful run and the referee points to the spot. David Ball takes responsibility for the kick.....
9 - SUBSTITUTION: Triallist Yoann Arquin is replaced by Billy Bodin after pulling up injured.
5 - David Lucas' guttural bellows echo around a well populated if quiet Edgar Street. Town are looking confident in possession and are in control of the early exchanges.
7.45pm - The match kicks off with Town shooting away from their spattering of away fans.
7.35pm - It's 90s dance music a-go-go as the teams run through their final warm up routines before kick-off.
7.30pm - The teams are in. Danny Wilson names a strong line up, minus Michael Rose and J-P McGovern, both of whom played 90 minutes at Swindon Supermarine on Wednesday. Wilson is expected to make wholesale changes at half-time, as was the case at Hunt's Copse.
