The draw for the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy has been made, with Swindon facing a trip to the current holders.
Town have been handed an away trip to face League 1 rivals Southampton, who won the competition last season with a 4-1 win over Carlisle United at Wembley.
The two league meetings between Town and Southampton both went the way of Danny Wilson's men. Sean Morrison's header secured the points in the home encounter in August, with Charlie Austin's fine individual effort winning the return fixture at St. Mary's in March.
Southampton lost out to Plymouth Argyle on the opening game of this season before beating AFC Bournemouth in the midweek Carling Cup encounter.
The game will take place in the week commencing 30th August 2010. Ticket details will be confirmed early next week.
The two teams will meet again shortly after when Southampton visit The County Ground on Saturday 11th September in League 1.
