David Byrne leaves Swindon Town FC

David Byrne has reached an agreement with Swindon Town FC to terminate his contract as Head of Player Development with immediate effect.

During his time with the club, David has filled a number of roles including Caretaker Manager, Assistant Manager and Head of Youth, but has recently expressed a desire to return to front line management and coaching.

Commenting on the news, STFC Chairman Andrew Fitton said: "Since I became involved at STFC 'Budgie' has served the club in a range of important capacities, and
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for his tireless contribution and loyalty.

"He has a keen eye for identifying and developing young football talent and the Board wish him every success with his future career."

David Byrne, commenting on his decision to leave the club, said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swindon Town FC, it is a club that I have a great affection for and in many ways I am sad to leave but at the same time I am excited about the prospect of returning to a management and coaching role."
