Swindon Town midfielder David Prutton will miss out on a return to his former club Southampton on Tuesday.

Prutton, who joined The Saints for £2.5 million in January 2003, was sent off at MK Dons on Saturday afternoon for two bookable offences.

He will serve a one-match ban which will rule him out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round clash at St. Mary's on Tuesday night.

The 28-year old will be eligible again for the League 1 clash against Carlisle United on Saturday 4th September at Brunton Park.

Prutton's suspension could mean a recall to the side for summer signing Simon Ferry or Michael Timlin, who was not included on the bench for the weekend defeat at stadiummk.
