FULL TIME Carlisle United 0 Town 0

90 + 2 - It's like Wembley all over again, as Ball flicks the ball through brilliantly towards Austin, who finds himself one-on-one with Collin inside the box, picks his spot, and watches the ball bobble onto his shin and well over the top.

89 - James Chester rises well to meet yet another cross swung into the Town box, but he heads well wide.

79 - The ball breaks to Ferry on the edge of the box who tees up Douglas, but the skipper's right-footed shot flies well over.

76 - Austin flicks the ball through to David Ball, who eases the bouncing ball over the onrushing Collin, but Michalik is across to stop it trickling over the line.

72 - SUBSTITUTION: Michael Timlin is replaced by Alan O'Brien.

67 - A great chance goes begging for Town, as McGovern chips an excellent cross to the back post where Austin finds himself unmarked, but chooses not to head the ball, seemingly for fear of careering into the post.

64 - SUBSTITUTION: David Ball replaces Vincent Pericard.

62 - Sean Morrison goes close to putting through his own net as he diverts a low Zoko cross goalwards, but Lucas reacts well to bat it away and Cuthbert clears.

56 - Austin squanders Town's best chance of the game thus far, as an inch-perfect cross found him under little pressure in the box, but he could only head straight at Collin in the home goal.

54 - SUBSTITUTION: Callum Kennedy is replaced by Alan Sheehan. Kennedy suffered an injury in the first half, and it appears the half-time magic sponge treatment did not have the desired effect as he limps off.

53 - McGovern chips a neat cross in towards Pericard, but the former Carlisle man mishits a difficult volley, and Collin makes a simple save in the home goal.

50 - A cross from Taiwo is met well on the stretch by Michalik, but his header is weak and Lucas collects easily.

4.05pm - The second half kicks off.

HALF TIME Carlisle United 0 Town 0

41 - Amankwaah is caught in possession on Town's right, and the ball breaks to Paul Thirwell on the edge of the, and the former Town loanee shoots, but watches the ball fly well over the top.

36 - Carlisle are racking up the corner count, but are still to seriously test David Lucas.

27 - Another chance for Town as Callum Kennedy's deep cross is met well by Vincent Pericard, who nods it back to J-P McGovern, but the Scot hits his first time volley over the bar from the edge of the box.

20 - Town's first real opening of the match comes from a sharp break away, with Michael Timlin sweeping a glorious crossfield ball through to Charlie Austin, whose first touch is good, but the youngster can only drag his shot well wide under pressure.

Bernard Zoko, Carlisle United

17 - The first hint of an opening as Francois Zoko breaks through the Town backline, but Kevin Amankwaah is back sharply to put him off his shot, and David Lucas makes a simple save.

10 - The hosts have had the lion's share of possession, but both goalkeeper's remain untested.

3pm - The match kicks off.

2.55pm - In what is perhaps the strangest pre-match tradition at any football club, Carlisle's mascot, Olga the Fox, places a stuffed fox on the centre spot, and walks away as if a human inside a fox outfit putting a stuffed fox in the centre circle of a football pitch is not anything other than entirely routine. Bring on the football before this gets too weird.

Carlisle United - the pre-match routine

2.45pm - The match officials warm up in front of Town's sparse and hardy away following. The cheerleaders await their cue to perform pitchside as Alan Sheehan is taken by surprise by a sprinkler. Could the jovial Irishman make an impact from the bench today?

2.40pm - Town's players, led by Vincent Pericard, return to the changing rooms to prepare for kick-off. Former Carlisle man Pericard receives a warm hand on his first return to Brunton Park since leaving for Town last January,

2.05pm - The teams are in. Danny Wilson has kept faith with the side that beat Southampton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday, but there is no place for WIll Evans on the bench.
