After the dramatic week at The County Ground last week, the Monday papers have plenty to say about Town's comeback and the potential candidates for the vacant manager's job at the club.
NOBODY does drama quite like Swindon Town Football Club.
Be it takeover sagas, protracted transfer deals or managerial comings and goings, there always seems to be something to keep the fans on their toes - and this week was no different.
Two dismal cup exits culminated in the departure of boss Maurice Malpas on Friday morning, just 24 hours before a vital League One fixture against table-toppers Leicester City And it looked like their miserable spell was set to continue as they trailed 2-0 to the Foxes with just six minutes remaining, thanks to efforts from Matt Oakley and Matt Fryatt.
However, a bold 4-3-3 formation from caretaker manager Dave Byrne and a gung-ho approach to the final stages saw Simon Cox and Barry Corr both net to snatch an unlikely-looking point.
And captain Michael Timlin was delighted with his side's new-found approach, admitting: "In the past when we've gone 2-0 down we've tended to let our heads drop and suffered from it. But this time we thought 'why not give it a go?' "Maybe if everyone saw the 2-0 result after the game they would have said they expected it because it was Leicester playing Swindon.
"But there was a big attitude and big determination from us to get something from the game.

Bookies' favourite Ian Holloway will hold talks over the possibility of him becoming the new manger of Swindon Town later this week.
The Daily Press understands that former Bristol Rovers boss Holloway is one of over 30 applicants for the vacant post and will be interviewed along with a number of other candidates in the next seven days.
Former Carlisle boss John Ward has also emerged as a leading contender after submitting an impressive application and will be called to the County Ground to state his case to land the job this week. Ward has already managed at a trio of West clubs in Bristol Rovers, Bristol City and Cheltenham Town.
Chairman Andrew Fitton will finalise his shortlist in the next 48 hours with Aidy Boothroyd, should he decide to register an interest, and Iain Dowie also expected to be on it.
Steve Cotterill would also be considered - should he throw his hat into the ring - despite a failed attempt by the board to lure the former Cheltenham boss to the County Ground when Paul Sturrock left for Plymouth this time last year.
Sources at the club have also indicated that Fitton would be willing to speak to former Town assistant boss Gus Poyet - but is believed to feel that installing the Uruguayan would be a "brave move".
Fitton was unwilling to discuss individual cases when contacted by the Daily Press yesterday, but did not rule out making an appointment before Town face West rivals Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

LIFE after Maurice Malpas got off to a dramatic start as Town scored two late goals to salvage a 2-2 draw against Leicester City at the County Ground.
Although there was little to choose between the sides in the first half, Swindon will feel they should have gone in in-front having seen Simon Cox miss a simple chance and Pat Kanyuka have a goal ruled out for handball.

And they're off. The race to become Swindon Town's next manager began in earnest on Saturday - just over 24 hours after Maurice Malpas departed the County Ground car park for the last time.
The current managerial vacancy and who might be in line to fill it totally overshadowed the pre-match build-up and it was easy to forget that title-chasing Leicester City arrived in Wiltshire to fulfil one of the season's more glamorous fixtures.
Glances flitted from pitch to directors' box in equal measure with any potential action in amongst the suits as of much interest as the action unfolding on the pitch. (good to firm)
So, were any of the early runners and riders in attendance? Well, there were no reported sightings of 6/4 favourite Ian Holloway, although some eagle-eyed punters claimed to have spotted former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd (8/1) in attendance.
The race takes a break for almost a week now - unless Town chairman Andrew Fitton makes a quick appointment in the next few days - and will resume again at the Memorial Stadium, Bristol.
Eyes peeled, then, for any other out-of-work managers looking a bit shifty in the stands next Saturday. Sightings of Iain Dowie (3/1), Steve Cotterill (6/1), Gus Poyet (10/1) or John Ward (12/1) should be reported to the Western Daily Press sports desk immediately.
If the rumour mill is to be believed, Boothroyd crept out midway through the second-half on Saturday, which is a shame. He would probably have been on the M4 by the time Town came late on the rails and scored two goals in the final six minutes to leave temporary manager David Byrne (12/1) celebrating a dead heat on his return to the saddle.

Leicester failed to overtake their rivals after surrendering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at managerless Swindon.
The County Ground outfit parted company with boss Maurice Malpas in the week, but battled back bravely to share the points with the Nigel Pearson's side.
