A surprise inclusion on the Town bench against Exeter City in October was 15-year old winger Alex Henshall.
Henshall joined Swindon as an eight-year old where he was first coached by Jeremy Newton, now Town's Centre of Excellence Manager. Henshall rose through the youth ranks and at 12-years old was offered a four-year contract by the club.
In July 2009 he travelled with the Town squad to the Northern Ireland Milk Cup where he Captained the side to the Quarter-Finals of the Junior Section, losing out 1-0 to Everton. His performances in the Milk Cup caught the attentions of England scouts and he was subsequently included in an England Under 16's training camp at Burton Albion in September.
The midfielder also played for England Under 16 squad to face Wales at Huish Park on Thursday 15th October and impressed.
He also came off the bench for the Town Under 18's and scored the final goal in a 6-0 rout of Yeovil Town in the FA Youth Cup First Round.
