Name: Matthew Barnes

Matty Barnes joined The Robins in November 2005 and has progressed through the youth ranks to the first team stage.

After impressive performances for the youth team early in the 2009/10 season, he made the step up to reserve team level.

An eye-catching display in front of Town boss Danny Wilson in the reserve team win at Reading's Madejski Stadium at the end of October, Barnes was handed a surprise first team call.

He was named on the bench for the FA Cup First Round tie against Woking although did not enter the field of play.

Currently a second year scholar, the 18-year old West Country boy is very much part of the future at Swindon Town.
