SIXTY SECONDS WITH LEE PEACOCK
Lee Peacock, 32, spoke to the official website about the start of pre-season training, his current situation and his hopes for the new season.
How is the recovery going?
I have had an infection in my spine which I am trying to get over. The second operation on my back went very well, but at the moment I am waiting for the antibiotics to sort it out then I can get cracking with my pre-season fitness work.
Will you be fit for the start of the new season?
Hopefully by the end of next week the infection will have cleared up and I can get on with the running with a view of going to Austria, but that will be the Gaffer's call as to whether I go or not. If it hasn't cleared up then I will just need to be patient.
It sounds like a frustrating time, especially with the new campaign just around the corner…
I never thought that I would look forward to running so much! I have seen the lads come in and I really can't wait to get involved in training. I am dying to get stronger, quicker and fit for the season. All I can do it try to be patient so the infection clears up.
