Swindon Town Youth Team stormed to the top of the South West Conference Youth Alliance with a 4-1 victory over Hereford United at The Liddington.
However, it was the visitors - who have yet to register a win this season - who started the brighter of the two sides, forcing Town 'keeper Jamie Stephens into some good early saves.
Consequently when Town went in front it was against the run of play, as winger Josh Parsons bundled the ball over the line from close range.
Despite a deserve equaliser from The Bulls on 20 minutes, a sharp finish from Jordan Record and Parsons' second made it 3-1 at half time.
Town were far more dominant in the second half, and made the score line emphatic after 50 minutes when Matt Barnes volleyed the ball into the roof of the net from long range.
Only poor finishing prevented the margin of victory climbing, but Paul Bodin will have been happy to see his side go ahead of second placed Bristol Rovers on goal difference, in what was their first game in nine weeks.
