Cibocchi Departs Town

22 August 2012

ALESSANDRO Cibocchi has had his contract with Swindon Town Football Club cancelled by mutual consent.

The defender arrived in Wiltshire in the summer of 2011 after previous playing spells in Italy, but he is returning home due to family reasons.

He made a total of 18 league appearances for Swindon last season as the club stormed to the League Two title. “I would like to thank all the Swindon fans and everyone at the club,” he told the official website shortly before saying his goodbyes at SN1.

“Also thank you to my teammates for the past year I have had with the club because they have all made me feel very welcome and helped me.

“The fans used to sing ‘dance with Cibocchi’ but I cannot do that anymore! I have enjoyed my time with Swindon Town and wish them success this season.”

The Italian is now a free agent and will now return to Italy.
