De Vita - Ready To Go

17 August 2012

RAFFAELE De Vita says the Town are raring to go ahead of the start of the 2012/13 League One campaign.

The midfielder caught up with Swindontownfc.co.uk after presenting the FITC end of summer course awards and he admits that he would have preferred a home game on the opening day of the League season.

“We’re looking forward to the first game of the season, obviously it would have been better to play at home,” he said. “We have to play everyone eventually but if we get a long trip it’s good to get it out of the way now while the pitch is good and the weather is nice.”

“We’re all looking forward to it. It’s the first one you look for after coming back from your holidays but every game we go into we need to have a go and try and get wins.”

The Italian also assessed the progress made through pre-season and declared that he wants to play as many times as he can this season.

“Like last year we ran so much and worked so hard but personally I feel fit. It maybe might take another couple of weeks to get to 100% in terms of fitness - we’re still getting tired towards the end of games but that will come with time.

“I want to play as many games as possible. That’s been made harder with the new signings and the extra competition but all I can do is my best. If I can help the team it will be good for me and good for everyone.”
