TOWN boss Paolo Di Canio spoke to the waiting media after his side's 3-0 win over Brighton at The County Ground...
On Town’s tactical approach...
I am very happy with the way we approached the game tonight. We have taken three or four steps forward and we played with maturity and with intelligence. We scored a fantastic free-kick against Brighton not against a non-league team like in pre-season, with respect.
On Navarro’s brace…
I told Alan at the start of the season that he would score nine to ten goals with us this season. He scored once for Brighton in a three seasons but scored two tonight. In my system he can do that and it was a good display. The second one was a deflection, but he was there with discipline and had the quality. All credit to him because he believes in what we are trying to do.
On collective achievement…
This was a squad victory. They were all committed and helped their teammates through the game. For this I am very happy and thanks to the players. It’s a good start but we must keep our feet on the ground because this is only mid-August.
On Devera’s display…
In the first half he was a bit shy but on and off the ball in the second half he was good. The manager can speak and teach, but the players helped each other tonight.
