Flint - A Great Performance

22 August 2012

ADEN Flint believes that Swindon's performance against Crawley on Tuesday was exactly what the side needed after Saturday’s draw at Hartlepool.

Speaking after Town’s 3-0 win over the Red Devils, Flint told Swindontownfc.co.uk that they deserved all three points.

“It was a fantastic win,” he said. “It’s exactly what we needed after the game on Saturday. We like to think we can beat anyone at home and we’ve shown tonight that we deserved the three points with a great performance from all the lads.

“It was so important to bounce back. We wanted to win on Saturday to start the season off with a bang, unfortunately we couldn’t do that but we need to go into the next game and carry on like we did tonight. We’ve beaten a very good Crawley side.”

The result marked a year to the day since the Town lost at The County Ground and Flint says that the team need to maintain their standards for the rest of the season.

He said: “I think at home we’ve got a great chance of beating anyone it’s a year now we’re unbeaten at home so it is not a bad record, we just want to keep it going for the rest of the season now. Teams will be coming here trying to break that record, we’ve just got to carry on playing our game and try to keep the record going.

“It felt good to be back in the team obviously I enjoyed being back out there I never enjoy watching. It’s just one of those things: you’ve got to wait for your chance and when you get your chance you’ve got to take it.”
