Speaking to the media on Thursday lunchtime, he offered the latest news on his transfer plans.
“I do not want to say too much until a deal is done, but maybe we will sign one player – maybe it could be five players.
“We have done a lot of work and know who we want, but the deals have to be done before we can announce them.
“The possibility is that we would have a few new players in time for the Preston game on Sunday.”
