Devera has played the opening two games of the League One campaign at right-back and was delighted to have featured in the midweek victory over Crawley Town.
“Tuesday was a massive win for us and a first three points of the season and we want to keep going now,” he told the official site after training on Friday. “There were a lot of positives to take from the game – the clean sheet, the goals we scored and it could have been four as Flinty had one disallowed.
“I had a hand in the third goal which Rafa finished off really well. Personally I thought I should have scored myself too but it didn’t happen.”
Having arrived at SN1 last summer as a centreback, Devera’s versatility has proved useful for Paolo Di Canio with the former Barnet man lining up at right-back against Crawley.
He said: “I am used to playing at right-back having played there for Barnet a lot. I’m a centreback but happy to play there as required.
“It’s a different type of fitness playing at right-back so I still need to get my full-back fitness, but I am nearly there. It’s coming along but I can’t wait for the MK Dons game which will hopefully give us the opportunity for another win.”
