Ritchie - Big Start Required

20 August 2012

MATT Ritchie says that Town will be doing all they can to secure three points against Crawley on Tuesday.

Speaking at Monday’s press call, the winger declared that Richie Barker’s men will be a tough side to face tomorrow evening.

“We played them last season and got on quite well against them,” he said. “They have a different manager but I’m sure there’s still a couple of players left from last season so they’ll be gritting their teeth to try and win the game but we’ll do all we can to win 3 points.

“They will be the same as last season; can be direct but they look a decent side. Look like they can pass it, so we’ll have to be on our game but I’m sure we can get the ball down and pass it and score some goals.”

After the 0-0 draw at Hartlepool on Saturday, Ritchie was keen to move on and focus on the forthcoming fixtures.

He said: “We went there expecting to win the game and get three points so a little bit disappointed but we’ve got a Tuesday game now, games come thick and fast so hopefully we can get our first three points at home on Tuesday.

“No obviously we’re up there with the favourites and they’re (Hartlepool) the games you expect to go and win so it was disappointing not to win the game but that game’s gone now we need to concentrate on the rest of the season. Hopefully we can put that right tomorrow, put in a good performance and get the three points.”
