TROY Archibald-Henville says he was glad to have played his first game at The County Ground since his move from Exeter City.
The central defender played nearly 80 minutes of Wednesday’s friendly against Crystal Palace and he told Swindontownfc.co.uk on Thursday that it was important to get a feel for SN1 before the season kicks off.
“It was good to get my first game and get used to the surroundings,” he said. “I think we got a good reception, I felt welcomed by the fans and I’m just looking forward to the next game.
“It’s a shame we didn’t get a win but hopefully we’ll get a better result in the next game.”
The summer signing was also pleased with the way he had settled in at his new club and declared that he was looking forward to the match against Brighton in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
He said: “I feel I’ve settled in quite well really. All the boys have been good with me obviously there were quite a few new players and I think with the schedule, going away to Italy and us being around each other so much it helps with settling in a lot quicker.
“I feel like I’ve been doing alright. Pre-season has been tough - the main thing was to get through it and I feel like I’ve done that. I’ve had no problems with injuries so I’m just looking forward to the Brighton game.
“It should be a good game, I’ve played them a few times before, I know the manager Gus Poyet - I was with him at Spurs when I was younger. He’s a good manager so it should be a good game,” he added.
