SWINDON Town Under 18’s boss Paul Bodin saw his side exit the FA Youth Cup at the third round stage after a heavy defeat to ‘clinical opposition’.
Bodin credited his side with a hardworking display but acknowledged the gap in class between the two sides on a freezing night at The County Ground.
He said: “Liverpool are a quality side and they had a huge lift with the first goal. They scored two quick ones but all credit to our lads because they kept going right until the end.
“The fourth goal killed the game off really before half-time but to play against a side like Liverpool, a category one EPPP side, was another level and you could see that. Liverpool spend millions of pounds on young players and their academy but well done to them.
“It's a harsh lesson for our lads but they have to take that forward. Liverpool were clinical. Our lads kept going for 90 minutes and all credit to them.”
