PDC - We Deserved Three Points

15 December 2012

MANAGER Paolo Di Canio spoke to the assembled media after his side’s 2-0 win at Boundary Park.

On the win…
Today we got what we expected and deserved: three points. We kept going professionally and gave our best. I’m happy because players like (Danny) Hollands and (Chris) Martin now understand what it means to play under me.

On taking chances…
The first chance we took. The second chance we took. We had another four we didn’t take! I have to be happy. The last few games we dominate more than we did today but today it was important to get in front. It happens often in League One that if you go 1-0 up you will go on and win the game. It was clear today that we were the better side.

On the Christmas period…
I tell my players that I hope in the second half we try and save the energy for Tranmere. I told my players to keep the goals for the next game but at the end of the day we did very well.

On Raffaele De Vita…
After the goal he did very well. He scored two goals which is very good.

On messages to the travelling support…
I said to them thanks. I remind them that they are our strength and their support is very important. 300 is a big number before the Christmas period.
