Preview: Liverpool

4 December 2012

SWINDON Town’s Under-18s take on Liverpool at The County Ground this evening in the FA Youth Cup third round proper. Kick-off is 7pm.

THE VIEW
Paul Bodin: “Drawing Liverpool at home was probably the best draw of the round. It is a tremendous tie and Liverpool is a fantastic club. They have a very impressive Academy set-up and we sold our young goalkeeper Jamie Stephens to them a few seasons back. Jamie has kept in touch and sent us his best wishes ahead of the game and I know he is really enjoying his time with Liverpool. The game will be a tough one but if we play at our maximum and they don’t play to theirs, then who knows?”

THE STORY SO FAR
Town were 6-1 winners over Sholing at The County Ground for the first round encounter, which took place at The County Ground on Wednesday 31st October. Cirencester Town were next up in the second round and the Centurions went out 6-1, securing Swindon a home tie against Liverpool.

LAST TIME OUT
The last game for the Swindon Town Under-18s was a 3-2 away defeat at Plymouth Argyle on Friday afternoon, with Alex Ferguson and Curtis Da Costa on the scoresheet.
