The ladies made the long trip down to Chichester on Sunday in the Women's FA Cup First Round Proper & came away with a superb 4-1 win.

From the first whistle, STLFC dominated proceedings against a Chichester City LFC side who are currently second in their respective league.

On a sticky, muddy pitch Swindon started brightly playing some great football and were rewarded after 30 mins when Abby Picton finished off a great move putting STLFC 1-0 up. Five mins later Michelle Rich made it 2-0 with a fine finish. At the start of the second half, the hosts made it 2-1 with a penalty.

Swindon continued to press and were rewarded with two more goals. A great finish from Abby Picton made 3-1 before Kim Reeves made it 4-1 from a Catherine Reid corner.

Manager Glyn Evans said he was thrilled for the club to be progressing to the Second Round Proper where the bigger teams start to enter.

"We came to a difficult place," he said. "It was not a good pitch but we came away with a great result."
