Hollands - I'm Enjoying It

29 November 2012

ON-loan midfielder Danny Hollands says that he has settled in well at The County Ground.

Speaking exclusively to the official website on Wednesday lunchtime, Hollands spoke about his first fortnight at SN1 and how he was looking forward to playing his part in pushing Swindon further up the League One table.

“It’s been good and the lads have been brilliant,” he said. “The training has been good - obviously there have been a few things I’ve had to adapt to because it’s a bit different. Every manager has his own way of doing things and obviously different tactics but I’m enjoying it and looking forward to the next game.

“There are some great players here and a great squad. It’s healthy to have a lot of competition because if you’re playing you’ve got people snapping at your heels trying to get your place and if your’re on the bench you want to try and push into that first team. When you do get on you have to make the most of it so it’s good to have a lot of competition.

“I played in this league last year – it’s a very tough one to get out of. There are some great teams as well as some hard places to go to but the Championship is the same. Like in any season you know there are going to be hard games and tough places to go to but I’m just looking forward to helping Swindon get higher up the league.”

With a break from fixtures this weekend, the midfielder revealed that the squad was being put through their paces on the training pitch.

He explained: “We’ve stepped up training this week to make sure our fitness levels are tip top and obviously to prepare for the Christmas period which is a busy period. It’s been good and it’s been enjoyable but hard. Hopefully we’ll feel the benefits come the next home game and hopefully we can put on a show and get three points.”
