Preview - Notts County

23 November 2012

TOWN are back on the road this weekend as they travel to Notts County in League One.

THE VIEW

Manager Paolo Di Canio says that he is looking forward to the test that his side will face at Meadow Lane.

“Notts County have two experienced players missing but they have quality and they play good football,” he said. “It will be a good test for us. I’m looking forward to it because it’s another team with good experience at this level and anyway, away from home we always play our football, we get a lot of points this year and we will try and do the same.

“The way they play and the way we play it should be a very good football match to watch. They play 4-3-3, they play on the ground, they want to keep the ball and start from the back, have good possession ball so in some ways we like to play against sides that play in this manner.”

THE STORY SO FAR

After losing just one league game in August and September, the Magpies lost four of their next seven matches in October. They have remained unbeaten since but have drawn their last three League One matches and sit just outside the play-off places.

LAST TIME OUT

A late Lee Hughes winner condemned Town to a 1-0 defeat on their last visit to Meadow Lane in November 2010. Andy King’s 2003/04 vintage were the last Swindon team to win at Notts County in January 2004. Goals from Brian Howard and Tommy Mooney secured all three points.
