Preview: Yeovil Town

16 November 2012

TOWN are back at The County Ground in League One this weekend with Yeovil Town the visitors in a West Country derby clash.

THE VIEW

Manager Paolo Di Canio warned in his pre-match press conference that must make the most of their next two fixtures, both of which are at The County Ground.

“Yeovil have a big physical presence and will try and cause us problems inside the box," he said. "They have wingers who will come inside and we have to be wary of that threat.

"Now is the moment we must step forward and make progress together. We have two games at home now and we must keep improving and not fall into a trap like we did some months ago.”

THE STORY SO FAR

The Glovers, once again under the guidance of Gary Johnson, made a blistering start to the campaign after spending most of last season battling at the wrong end of the table. After winning three of their opening four fixtures, they went on a run of six straight defeats. Since winning at Colchester in early October, they have won five of their last seven matches and currently sit 11th in League One.

LAST TIME OUT

Yeovil came away with all three points on their last visit to SN1 in January 2011. A goal from Dean Bowditch was enough to seal a 1-0 win for the visitors. In fact, the Glovers have a good record at The County Ground, winning three of the five meetings between the sides. Town last recorded a victory over Yeovil in December 2009 when goals from Billy Paynter, Charlie Austin and Danny Ward secured a 3-1 win for Danny Wilson’s side.
