Bostock - Delighted To Start

18 October 2012

ON-LOAN midfielder John Bostock says that he was delighted to have made his first start of the season for Town against Coventry at the weekend.

The midfielder says that he had been happy to wait for the opportunity to play in his preferred position.

“It’s always good to play and I’m always delighted to play,” he said. “That’s why I’m a footballer because I love playing games. I thought I did ok but I’m still learning my trade so the more games I get the better I’ll do. I was happy even though it felt like we should have taken all three points so a bit of disappointment but on a personal note it was good to play.

“The manager wanted ‘Benno’ to be the higher striker and for me to be the one that’s a little bit deeper in the hole, in the ‘number 10’ role which I really enjoy playing. I’m still learning my game there - I enjoy playing in any position but that’s my preferred position.

“I think for any footballer you have to be patient and wait for whenever the manager feels it’s right for you to play.”

After Saturday’s draw with Coventry, Bostock says that the side are focused on securing all three points against Scunthorpe.

“We’ve been close to getting a run of games but the gaffer’s talking to us and letting us know that it’s important to win at home because you can never know what will happen in any game especially away. We should have won the game with the chances we had on Saturday so hopefully this Saturday we’ll come away with the three points.”
