Chris Smith was the only senior professional in a Swindon side consisting almost entirely of youth team players.
Speaking after the match, Head of Youth Development Paul Bodin spoke to the official website.
“It was a very good exercise for us,” he said. “We had a lot of youth team players and we knew it would be a pretty tough game for us but we acquitted ourselves very well.
“I felt our inexperience took over and we were making some basic errors and when you are an inexperienced player playing against senior players, you can ill afford to make those mistakes. Half time came and we rallied round. We had a good chat and spoke about all the positive things we had done and the second half was far better.
“We can take a lot of positives as we had a very young team.”
